Mailing List

stepss-list@googlegroups.com is the public channel for STEPSS: release announcements, questions about the engines, and discussion among users. Its archive is open, so a question asked here is answered once and stays readable for everyone who later hits the same problem.

Subscribing

Subscribe by emailSend an empty message, then reply to the confirmation you receive. No Google account is required, so an institutional address works.
Subscribe on the webOpen the group and press Join. This route asks you to sign in to Google, and lets you read the archive and choose digest delivery.

Both routes reach the same list. The email route is documented first because a Google account is not something every reader has, or wants to attach to a work address; the web route suits anyone who would rather read in a browser than in an inbox.

What belongs here

The three engines are distributed as compiled binaries and their repositories are not public, so this list is the only place where a problem in RAMSES, Helios or CODEGEN can be reported. Such a report is most useful when it carries the STEPSS version, the operating system, and a case small enough for someone else to run.

Anything with a public repository is better raised on its own issue tracker, where it stays attached to the code that has to change:

Licensing questions, including commercial use, go to the addresses on the License page rather than to the list.
